The Kőszeg Harvest is the biggest highlight in the town and the joining International Wind-band Festival in which the most number of visitors take part. The three-day festival has been setting in action by the inhabitants of Kőszeg for two decades and its central event is the harvest carnival held on the last Saturday of September every year. Then, the whole town including schools, civil organizations and firms march in their funny fancy dresses. All the programmes are organised round this carnival starting with a wind-band serenade on Friday evening and closing with a light-music show on Sunday.
On Saturday morning there is the musical welcome of the coming wind-bands. Every year there are 6-10 bands visiting our festival. The whole town is loud with wind-band music and at midday you can also listen to wind-brand music in several restaurants of the town. After the procession you can listen to folk and wind-band music and watch folk and modern dancers at different points of the town. Saturday evening programmes are closed by a wind-band show at Róbert Károly square. On Sunday afternoon there are children programmes in the programme-tent, then wind-band music can be heard played by the visiting groups and finally, light music concerts close the three-day festival.
